Location: India (fully remote; must be eligible to work in India)
Team: Engineering
Type: Full-time
Experience: 3+ years
About the Role
We're looking for a JavaScript/TypeScript Engineer who thrives in a small, high-impact team. Our ideal hire enjoys building product end to end: thoughtful user experiences, reliable backend APIs, clean domain models, automated workflows, tests, CI/CD, and the internal tools that help a small team move faster.
AI has changed how we build software, and we want someone who is genuinely curious about that shift. We use AI coding tools in day-to-day development, but we care more about engineering judgment than novelty: understanding the problem, reviewing generated code carefully, improving workflows, and turning rough automation ideas into maintainable systems.
If you're passionate about well-crafted TypeScript, enjoy solving real-world product problems, and like tightening the loop between product, engineering, and AI-assisted development, we'd love to talk to you.
What You'll Do
-
Build across our TypeScript stack, from Nuxt/Vue product surfaces to Fastify, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, queues, and third-party integrations
-
Collaborate closely with product and tax experts to turn complex tax workflows into clear, reliable customer and admin experiences
-
Contribute to our GraphQL API and shared TypeScript libraries, including internal and open-source packages such as graphql-lookahead and graphql-gene
-
Develop AI-assisted workflows and automations that help the team ship faster: coding agents, internal tools, customer-support helpers, evaluation scripts, documentation workflows, and pragmatic RAG/search features where they make sense
-
Improve quality and delivery through focused tests, Playwright scenarios, CI/CD automation, observability, and developer-experience improvements
-
Help shape how we use tools like Cursor, Windsurf, OpenCode, or other AI-native development environments while keeping the codebase understandable and maintainable
What We're Looking For
-
3+ years of professional experience in JavaScript/TypeScript development
-
Strong product-engineering instincts: you can move comfortably between frontend, backend, data modeling, tests, and tooling, even if you are deeper in some areas than others
-
Experience with modern TypeScript applications, ideally including SSR frameworks such as Nuxt/Vue or Next.js/React, plus backend API development
-
Genuine interest in AI-assisted software development, agentic coding workflows, and practical automation; deep expertise is welcome, but curiosity and good judgment matter more than knowing every tool
-
Excellent communication skills in English—our dev team operates entirely in English, even though most of our clients are French-speaking
-
Value clear, accessible, refined user experiences, from interaction details to long-term maintainability
-
A proactive mindset with a love for learning, thoughtful feedback, and continuous improvement
Nice to Have
-
Experience with GraphQL, Fastify, PostgreSQL, queues, Playwright, Vitest, or monorepo workflows
-
Experience building internal tools, scripts, AI evaluations, RAG/search features, or automations that remove repetitive work from a team
-
Comfort working in a remote, async-friendly environment with a small team and a high degree of ownership
How We Hire: AI-Assisted Pair Programming
Our interview process is designed to be collaborative and practical. We'll pair up for a live coding session using the AI-assisted development setup of your choice (for example Cursor, Windsurf, OpenCode, VS Code with Copilot, or something equivalent). The goal is to recreate the actual feel of working together: understanding requirements, asking good questions, using tools effectively, and producing code we can trust.
If selected, you'll receive the coding requirements in advance so you can prepare with confidence.
